GVT is faced with increased cost of service leading up to the minimum wage increase in 2020. Route 12 has the lowest ridership and highest cost per passenger of all GVT routes; therefore Route 12 will be eliminated. GVT is attempting to serve Route 12 stops on alternative routes, see the details above for stops that will be served by other routes. However, those stops that cannot be covered by another route must be eliminated.

Route 12 stops that will be eliminated include:

Outbound

    • 5th Street and north of Elm Court (Grand Junction High School)
    • Hall Avenue and east of 5th Street
    • Bookcliff Avenue and east of 7th Street
    • 11th Street and north of Bookcliff Avenue

Inbound

    • 11th Street and south of Wellington Avenue
    • Bookcliff Avenue and west of Little Bookcliff Avenue
    • 5th Street and south of Elm Court (Grand Junction High School)

Due to low ridership, GVT will not accept new Dial-A-Ride passengers beginning January 1, 2019. Those who are currently using the service and those who join the service prior to December 31, 2018 will have the ability to continue using the Dial-A-Ride service in 2019.
